2014 DVC Points Charts Released
2013 is here, which means it’s time to start planning your vacation for next year! If you’re a Disney Vacation Member, point charts for the 2014 season have just been released! Point adjustments are limited for 2014 and only reflect changes for the Easter and Thanksgiving holidays which have changing dates from year-to-year. In 2014, April 13th -26th have been classified as Easter Premier Season. The Thanksgiving holiday season will be November 26th-28th, and that places those dates in Magic Season. If you’re a member of the Disney Vacation Club, you can really start planning your 2013 Disney vacation now! Points charts for 2013 have been released and there are a few changes to be noted. The email sent to DVC members announced that changes were made to the Bay Lake Tower charts to reflect the “scheduled reassignment of 10 rooms from Theme Park View to Standard View effective Jan. 1, 2013. Back in August we wrote about the construction taking place at the Grand Floridian Resort and the closing of the spa for 18 months. There was much speculation that the Grand Floridian would be adding on for some rooms to become part of the Disney Vacation Club. Disney has now confirmed that the Grand Floridian will become a new Disney Vacation Club Destination. This new expansion will add more than 147 additional rooms to the Grand Floridian property. 2 weeks ago, Jim Lewis, the President of the Disney Vacation Club was fired. This comes as a surprise, as Disney’s new resort Aulani, which will have 460 DVC rooms, is set to open in just a few days. There is also a rumor that the expansion going on at Grand Floridian will include DVC rooms. Sales of time share units at Aulani have been suspended for the time being, and a new DVC Senior Vice President has already been named.
