Sandtastic Weekends Coming to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin in Late Summer

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort is hosting the first-ever Sandtastic Weekends in late summer. This new event is planned for August 26-28 and September 2-4 at the resort. Sandtastic Weekends are open to hotel guests and the general public. The event will feature 100 tons of sand art designed by professional artists from Team Sandtastic. Disneyland Resort Announces Plans to Build a Fourth Disney-Themed Hotel

The Disneyland Resort has announced plans to build a fourth Disney-themed hotel at the Anaheim resort. The plans, submitted in early June, are for a 700-room, four-diamond hotel and parking structure to be located on 10 acres at the north end of the Downtown Disney District parking lot. Once plans are approved, construction would begin in 2018 with an opening in 2021. News: Toddler Snatched by Alligator at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

A two-year-old boy was snatched by an alligator Tuesday night on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Officials say the boy was playing in several inches of water when the gator grabbed him. His parents entered the water and tried to wrestle the boy away from the gator to no avail. The search and rescue operation became a recovery operation Wednesday afternoon.
