Disney Vacation Club Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to be Renamed

The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are getting renamed! Disney Vacation Club recently announced that the Villas will be renamed the Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. DVC says the new name will distinguish the area, gives the villas a more “rustic” feel, and allows Imagineers to bring the community’s story to life. The currently-under-construction Hidden Springs Pool at the DVC Villas will also be renamed at a later date. Construction also continues on the water-front cabins at Wilderness Lodge. Those will reportedly be called the Copper...

Beaches & Cream at Disney’s Beach Club Resort has recently added “adult” hard floats and milkshakes to the menu. These new cool concoctions are created with beer – including Guinness Stout – hard ciders, and hard root beers plus ice cream. Guests (21 and over, of course) can choose from a S’mores Shake, a Classic Root Beer Float, a Grasshopper Float, a Tropical Sunrise Float, and a Stout Float. The S’mores Shake is made with Amarula Crème liqueur, Cream de Dark Coco, and chocolate and vanilla ice cream. It is topped with marshmallow, chocolate sauce, and graham. If...

Is Disney Thinking about Adding Resort Fees?

We’re hearing reports of a Walt Disney World Resort survey being sent to some guests about a potential $15-per-night resort fee that could be imposed at all Walt Disney World Resort hotels. This possible resort fee would cover things such as the Disney Magical Express, MagicBands, priority Fast+Pass planning at your resort, Extra Magic Hours at the theme parks, parking at the hotel and the theme parks, and Wi-Fi. Many hotels charge a nightly resort fee, including the Disney Springs-area hotels and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. The hotels “on property” at Disney...

Disney Removing Alarm Clocks from Resort Hotel Rooms

The next time you check into a Walt Disney World Resort hotel room you might notice that the alarm clock is missing. Don’t be “alarmed” – Disney is reportedly removing all clocks from the resort’s hotel rooms. We were first made aware of this when a member of our team reported that her room at Disney’s Contemporary Resort was without a clock. When she called the front desk she was told that all the clocks had been removed but guests can still request a clock if they need or want one. After contacting Disney Vacation Club Member Services, a cast member did...
