Keeping Cool at Your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel

The dog days of summer are upon us and if there’s one thing you need to know before your Walt Disney World vacation, it’s how to keep cool.

But you’re in luck because the hotels at Walt Disney World are home to some amazing pools and they might become your favorite place to hang out this summer. In addition to the pool, some of the resorts also have other fun ways to help guests stay cool.

The Walt Disney World Yacht and Beach Club is home to what is arguably the best pool on property – Stormalong Bay. This sand-bottom pool features a zero entry beach area for the little ones, a lazy river, and a 230-foot long water slide that starts at the top of a pirate ship. It’s three acres of water-filled fun.

All the Disney hotels have a large “themed” pool where guests can swim, soak up the sun, and even take part in daily activities. Some fan-favorite themed pools can be found at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s All-Star Movies, Disney’s Art of Animation, the Grand Floridian, Disney’s Port Orleans, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.

The resorts also feature “quiet” pools which tend to be less-crowded and a bit quieter than the main feature pools. Some of our favorite quiet pools are located at Pop Century.

Other “stay cool” options at the resorts include motorized boat rentals. At certain resorts guests can rent SeaRaycers, Montauk boats, pontoon boats, canoes, and even sailboats. One of our favorite places to visit is the marina at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. You can also book a parasailing adventure at the Contemporary’s marina.

So whether you’re sitting poolside sipping on a Pina CoLAVA or going for a sail around Bay Lake, there are many ways to keep your cool this summer at Walt Disney World.
