Waterside Bungalows Coming to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Posted by on Jun 18, 2015 | 2 comments

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is adding 26 waterfront bungalows as part of a Disney Vacation Club expansion at the resort.

Similar to the over-the-water bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, the new bungalows will be built on the shores of Bay Lake and will be on the sides of the resort.

While guests at the Polynesian Village Resort were upset about the loss of water views due to the bungalows there, some reports are saying that the impact at the Wilderness Lodge will be less.

The new bungalows at Wilderness Lodge will reportedly evoke the feeling of a rustic cabin at the lake while providing full kitchens and washing machines like other DVC villas.

Other improvements at Wilderness Lodge – according to the permits – include updated pools, improved dining experiences, and an update to the shore area.

Construction on the new bungalows is expected to begin in late 2015.

  1. Hi there,
Thank you so much for the info. Do you know if its ONLY for DVC members, or can the rest of us use them as well.

    • Hi Melanie! Thanks for the comment. Honestly we have no other information about the waterside cabins/bungalows at Wilderness Lodge. We assume that guests who aren’t DVC members will be able to rent them out but until we have confirmation from Disney we really don’t have a concrete answer.
