A new credit card policy for guests who wish to put a credit card on file during their stay will begin at the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels on February 27.
Under the new policy the Hotels will place “incremental authorization holds on the card for estimated incidental expenses, in addition to any balance due on the reservation.”
The authorization hold will be for any balance due on the reservations plus $100 for expected incidental purchases, according to Disney.
If the guest’s spending exceeds the initial $100 hold, additional incremental holds will be placed automatically. However, Disney says the authorization holds will not exceed the current balance plus $100.
As always, guests have the option of not putting a credit card on file, but they will not be able to charge to their room or use their MagicBand to charge items.
If guests wish to pay off the balance with something other than the credit card on hold – a Disney Gift Card for example – guests are advised that they should speak to the front desk upon check-in.
All guests with stays beginning February 27 and beyond will be notified of this change in a letter from Disney.
