There are many activities at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lodge. If horeseback riding is what you’re looking for at the Walt Disney World Resorts, then Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lodge is the place to go!
Saddle Up, Partner!
Climb aboard an Arabian horse or a quarter horse and enjoy a 45 minute guided tour through the Sherwood Forest of the Fort Wilderness Resort. This is the perfect activity for someone that is new to horseback riding.
Riders must be at least 9 years old and anyone under 18 years of age requires parent or guardian permission. Rides are $42 per person and for more information you can call?(407)939-7529.
Pony Rides
If you’re looking for your little one to be exposed to horses, this is a fun way to do it!
Pony Rides are available for children under 80 pounds and costs only $3 per child. Children that don’t want to ride the ponies are able to pet them. No reservations are needed.
Horses in the Park
Tri-Circle D Ranch is also the home to the horses that pull trolleys down Main Street, participate in the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade and special events like weddings.
These horses also pull along the carriages at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.
History at Tri-Circle D Ranch
There are two unique rooms to check out at the Tri-Circle D Ranch.
Make sure to view the Dragon Calliope, a horse-drawn musical?instrument?that Walt Disney purchased to be used in the parades at Disneyland in the 1950’s. The Calliope is used only for special events in the Disney Parks and has to be pulled by as many as eight horses!
There is also the Walt Disney Horses Room which features many pictures of Walt Disney with his beloved horses.
