Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has broken ground on the third hotel for the resort – the Disney Explorers Lodge.
The story of the new hotel is based in the 1920s when four explorers built a lodge inspired by their adventures around the world. The explorers even added their own artifacts to the hotel. The four areas that inspired the Disney Explorers Lodge are the African savannah, the South American rainforest, a Polynesian island, and Asia.
The Lodge will include four gardens – South American, Polynesian, Asian, and African – that will continue the theme of the explorer’s travels. The hotel will also feature a large, outdoor swimming pool and three restaurants.
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will also be home to the Victorian-inspired Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and the Art Deco Disney’s Hollywood Hotel.
The 750-room Disney Explorers Lodge is set to open in 2017.
