We’re hearing reports of a Walt Disney World Resort survey being sent to some guests about a potential $15-per-night resort fee that could be imposed at all Walt Disney World Resort hotels.
This possible resort fee would cover things such as the Disney Magical Express, MagicBands, priority Fast+Pass planning at your resort, Extra Magic Hours at the theme parks, parking at the hotel and the theme parks, and Wi-Fi.
Many hotels charge a nightly resort fee, including the Disney Springs-area hotels and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. The hotels “on property” at Disney World do not currently charge a resort fee.
There is no official word yet on whether or not this potential resort fee will happen. If it does it would come on the heels of the new seasonal ticket pricing for the Disney World theme parks and the increase in prices for the Disney Dining Plan – both of which have happened in the last two weeks.
How would you feel about pay a $15-per-night resort fee at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel? Let us know in the comments.
I personally don’t think I like all the extra fees and upcharges for the tickets and annual passes. I know and understand they are making renovations and Shanghai will be opening. But at our expense. Just my opinion. Thanks for letting us know.
If I am going to pay more fees on top of an already expensive vacation, then I am not going back to Disney…….this is my annual trip and we save all year for this and they are sucking us dry………there is no more money to be had……………
It is hard enough to afford to bring a family of 4 to stay on property. Not to mention grandparents. Living out of state also involves airfare. Guess we can all cut out on all the little extras inside the park which far exceeds $15 a night. What happened to Mr. Walt Disneys vision of an affordable place to take the entire family. I understand everything increases but this seems not to be an incentive to stay on site.
I think the Corporate Disney does not have the warm family feeling for us Disney Lovers. They do not care if the prices continue to climb and price many of us out of enjoying the parks. There is another generation on the horizon who will remember coming to the parks as a young child and will want to bring their families to experience Disney. This is the target for corporate Disney not a family of Disney Lovers.
I agree with these other comments. It’s already a huge expense to stay in a WDW resort. They’ve always sold the “Disney Magic” as the reason to pay those prices. Take away the extras and you’ve got some nicely themed resorts costing about 3 times as much as a comparable room just minutes off property.
