The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel is getting a major facelift.
The resort just announced a multi-year, multi-phase $125 million redesign project that is the biggest in the hotel’s history. At the end of the project every guest room in the two hotels will be transformed.
“As we celebrate the hotel’s 25th anniversary, it is appropriate that we mark the occasion with a renaissance of our room product,” said General Manager Fred Sawyers. “Our guests will continue to receive the level of service and hospitality that comes with a quarter century of experience while enjoying a modern new guest room.”
The redesign is not likely to disrupt the guest experience at the hotels – the majority of the rooms at both the Swan and Dolphin will be available during the process. The hotel’s restaurants, meeting rooms, shops, and pool will not be impacted.
The new room design is inspired by the hotel’s water-themed architecture and will feature upgraded furniture and the latest technology included HD televisions.
The centerpiece of the redesigned rooms is the Westin Heavenly Bed which features an all-white design with a pillow-top mattress, down blanket, and crisp white sheets.
The redesign project was started at the Swan Hotel and the goal is to have 500 of the 756 rooms redesigned by the end of this year. The Dolphin redesign will start in 2015 and will be completed in 2016.
