Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort has once again been added to AAA’s list of four-diamond resorts in Florida.

The resort was one of only seven Florida resorts to be added to this year’s list. Thirty-three other Central Florida resorts are on the four-diamond list.

The Wilderness Lodge is themed after a turn-of-the-century national park lodge and is famous for its soaring lobby and Pacific Northwest décor. The resort first received four-diamond status in 1996.

The four-diamond rating is the second highest rating given by AAA and is given to only 5.3 percent of the 29,000 hotels approved by AAA. Only 0.4 percent of the hotels ever receive a five-diamond rating. There are no five-diamond resorts in the Orlando area.

The Wilderness Lodge went through a refurbishment in 2012, including the addition of new bedding in guest rooms, plus new paint and carpeting.

Other four-diamond resorts at Walt Disney World include: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House and Kidani Village), Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
