Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will be opening to the public at the end of May, just in time for the summer season to begin!
The Art of Animation Resort will be a Value Resort that offers both standard rooms and suites that will sleep up to 6 people. The family suites that feature Cars, Finding Nemo and The Lion King will be the first available to guests and The Little Mermaid standard rooms will open in late 2012.
Both children and adults will love staying at the Art of Animation Resort where they will surround themselves from characters from their favorite Disney and Pixar films.
Walt Disney Imagineer Frank Paris says, “Our goal is to make guests feel like they have been immersed in the artistry and enchantment of Walt Disney and Disney Pixar animated classics.”
Each room is full of detail from the furniture, linens and carpeting. You’ll feel like you’re actually IN the story!
Outside of the rooms, you’ll be delighted by scenes straight out of a movie and giant icons. In the Finding Nemo section, you’ll find a brightly colored landscape to explore. The Cars section has a paved road leads to the Cozy Cone Motel that includes a Cozy Cone pool and cone-shaped cabanas. In The Lion King section, you’ll find an elephant graveyard play area to explore! Over in the Little Mermaid courtyard, discover treasures from the human world that fill Ariel’s grotto.
Disney’s Art of Animation will be home to Walt Disney World’s largest pool. The “Big Blue” pool measures 11,859 square feet! Guests will be able to explore the colorful reef with a giant-sized Mr. Ray whose wings span 27 feet and play with Squirt in the Righteous Reef, a children’s play area.
There will also be 2 additional pools, an arcade and of course, dining! The Landscape of Flavors food court at Art of Animation will feature delicious items such as fresh smoothies and Mongolian barbecue. There will also be pizza delivery available and a poolside snack bar.
Disney’s Art of Animation sits adjacent to Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Will you be booking a room this year? What themed building will you want to stay in?
