Bridge to Caribbean Cay at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Closed

If you’re visiting Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort between now and December you’ll find the bridge between Caribbean Cay and the villages of Jamaica and Aruba is closed.

The sign at the bridge states that the area is under refurbishment but guests are are reporting that they received no warning from Disney about the closure. The bridge not only connects the villages to Caribbean Cay but also gives guests in those villages a way to get to the main feature pool and Old Port Royale.

We’ve seen reports that the resort is running a boat across Barefoot Bay for guests in those two villages and there are also additional internal buses to take guests to the pool and Old Port Royale.

During a brief visit over the weekend we found the gates to the bridge were closed and signs were posted in the area.

If you have reservations at Caribbean Beach Resort and you’re staying in one of the affected villages you can contact Disney to see if they can give you a room in a different village.

Are you visiting Caribbean Beach Resort this fall? How do you feel about this bridge closure? Let us know in the comments.

  1. any idea when the renovation will be complete? this would be a huge inconvenience!

    • Maggie – We have heard mid-December but on our Facebook page today someone said they were told it won’t be that long. We will keep everyone updated.

  2. I just received a letter about our stay. We leave the 24th of November and it is supposed to open the 26th 🙁

Has this dampered anyone’s stay at the resort? Should I be sad about this?

    • The letter also says that there will, in fact, be a boat that runs from Aruba beach to Port Royale.
