Mardi Gras at Walt Disney World

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World during Mardi Gras, the place to stay at is Port Orleans French Quarter, where the celebration never stops!

You’ll feel like you’re in the French Quarter of New Orleans, surrounded by the cobblestone streets, the smell of Magnolia blossoms and the sound of jazz music playing all around you.

Over at the Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, you’ll be surrounded by giant Mardi Gras decorations! You’re going to want to try the Beignets, a delicious doughnut-like treat first made famous in New Orleans!

Enjoy a drink at the Mardi Grogs Pool Bar near the Doubloon Lagoon Pool, which features whimsical Mardi Gras characters! The slide is a giant sea serpent’s mouth and your kids will love the alligator band that spouts out water!

If you’re staying at Port Orleans French Quarter on Fat Tuesday, make sure to ask the front desk about a little known Mardi Gras parade. Cast members from the different departments at the resort will turn their golf carts into different themed floats and then parade around the resort! It’s so much fun to see what they come up with!
