Refurbishments at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Polynesian on 2nd floor near Monorail exit

As the refurbishments continue at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (the new-old name), we have some photos of the areas currently under construction.

Part of the refurbishment is the removal of the popular, yet very dated, waterfall feature in the lobby. Currently, this is what that area looks like:

Another view of the lower area, past the lobby near the Boutiki shop also includes construction walls. While many fans are sad to see the waterfall go away the new lobby promises to be incredible.

On the second floor of the resort there are also construction walls, but they include photos of concept art showing what the resort will look like once all the work is completed.

We can’t wait to see the all-new and improved Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort when all the work is completed in the next year or so. This “original” Disney World hotel promises to be stunning once again.

What do you think about the refurbishments going on at the Poly? Will you miss the waterfall (and the “smell” of the lobby)?
