It’s official! The first phase of Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows officially opened to guests on March 31. The newest Disney Vacation Club Resort will offer 360 Deluxe Studios and 20 over-the-water bungalows. After months of waiting, the time has arrived! Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort celebrated its soft opening over the weekend. Those who tried to visit the new Tiki bar were met with waits of up to six hours in some cases! Disney recently gave guests a sneak peek at the new merchandise coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The design of the merchandise is based on a style guide created by Disney Design Group artists and features Disney characters in lush, tropical settings. Merchandise items include resort-specific T-shirts, a long-sleeved hoodie featuring Minnie Mouse, Aloha shirts for kids and adults featuring character sketches and a Tiki figurine, and more. Our friends at the Disney Food Blog recently shared some news about Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We still don’t have an opening date, but there is news about other important things – like the drink menu! After many months of construction and anticipation, the lobby at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Great Ceremonial House has reopened. And it’s stunning! We had a chance to visit the resort recently and take a lot of photos of the updated lobby. The first thing you’ll notice is that the huge waterfall that was the centerpiece of the lobby is gone.
