Walt Disney World Resort Posts “No Fishing” Signs at Resorts

In the wake of last month’s fatal alligator attack at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney World has erected “No Fishing” signs at several resorts on property. According to reports there are ‘No Fishing’ signs posted at Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, Fort Wilderness, and Old Key West Resort. News: Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Closing July 11 for Refurbishment

Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter is set to close July 11 for a several-months-long refurbishment. The quick service spot is slated to reopen in the fall. During the refurbishment guests will be able to dine at a temporary dining location adjacent to the lobby and at Scat Cat’s Lounge. Disneyland Resort Announces Plans to Build a Fourth Disney-Themed Hotel

The Disneyland Resort has announced plans to build a fourth Disney-themed hotel at the Anaheim resort. The plans, submitted in early June, are for a 700-room, four-diamond hotel and parking structure to be located on 10 acres at the north end of the Downtown Disney District parking lot. Once plans are approved, construction would begin in 2018 with an opening in 2021. News: Toddler Snatched by Alligator at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

A two-year-old boy was snatched by an alligator Tuesday night on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Officials say the boy was playing in several inches of water when the gator grabbed him. His parents entered the water and tried to wrestle the boy away from the gator to no avail. The search and rescue operation became a recovery operation Wednesday afternoon.
