Following the fatal alligator attack earlier this month at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney has put up fences along the shorelines at several resorts including the Grand Floridian, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Other resorts with beaches – including Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts – will also likely have fencing installed at the shoreline. The Disneyland Resort has announced plans to build a fourth Disney-themed hotel at the Anaheim resort. The plans, submitted in early June, are for a 700-room, four-diamond hotel and parking structure to be located on 10 acres at the north end of the Downtown Disney District parking lot. Once plans are approved, construction would begin in 2018 with an opening in 2021. A two-year-old boy was snatched by an alligator Tuesday night on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Officials say the boy was playing in several inches of water when the gator grabbed him. His parents entered the water and tried to wrestle the boy away from the gator to no avail.
